Welcome to The Most Important Thing — a podcast about family leadership and the culture we build at home.
We’re Danielle and Greg Neufeld — partners in life, parents of three, and co-captains of a little experiment we call our family.
In our work, we’ve spent years building teams, investing in founders, and thinking deeply about culture and leadership. But nothing has taught us more about both than raising kids together.
Every week, we explore what it means to lead a family with the same intentionality we bring to our work. We ask questions like:
• How do families set culture, not just rules?
• What does accountability or joy or compassion look like at home?
• How can we build systems that create connection instead of chaos?
Each episode blends personal stories, research, and real tools — from psychology and organizational science to rituals and systems we test in our own house. We talk about family meetings, growth mindset, belonging, boundaries, compassion, money, movement, and everything in between.
We believe:
• Family culture is built from strength, not scarcity.
• Parenting is management, but family is leadership.
• The most successful families aren’t perfect — they’re intentional.
TMIT is where we share what we’re learning along the way — the reflections, frameworks, and small experiments that shape our home. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter for show notes, essays, and behind-the-scenes conversations about how we’re trying (and often failing) to practice what we preach.
Because the truth is, there’s no “one right way” to build a family.
But there is a way to do it on purpose.
Thanks for being here with us — for building, reflecting, and leading alongside us.
